What we like about this one:
- The sculpture is Richard Serra's "Wake" - one of my favorites
- The frame uses the original .7/.4/.7mm top tube, .6mm chain stays, but we added the new .7/.4/.7mm down tube. We used Spirit-for-Lugs head tube and seat tube (sorry, DWF); seat stays are 14mm True Temper. At about 3.4 pounds this is likely the lightest MAX frame we've ever built in this size.
- Construction and design input by Max; paint by Russ.
- Fork is Alpha Q CS25 for 57mm-reach brakes - so we're calling this a Strada Bianca.
- Hubs are Chris King R45, rims are Open Pro CD, built by Chase - thanks Ed!
- Cages are the new Nitto Racer Hollow - light and oh-so-pricey.
- Seatpost is by Kent Eriksen, hand polishing by HampCo.
- Thomson seatpost clamp; Zero100 bars; Fizik tape - the usual.
- Challenge Parigi-Roubaix tires: as fragile as they are pretty, the ride is fantastic. Avoid gravel and glass is my advice.
- The paint is our New Off-White (NOW) combined with Saronni Red ST stripes. The colors are supposed to complement our new socks and forthcoming jersey - but, like most things, the colors aren't a perfect match. Whatever, I can't wait to take the bike for a spin and bore you all with Steve's Ride Impressions (SRI™).
Comments
This is my last one but the new fork from Co-Motion looks to be a close replacement.
